ABOUT AMATEUR GOLF TOUR OF NEW ENGLAND (AGTNE)

 

Amateur Golf Tour of New England - aka: (AGTNE) (golfneat.com) (golf new england amateur tour) (N.E.A.T) or (NEAT).

 

After 27 years of operating as the Boston Amateur Golf Society - Rhode Island Division (B.A.G.S.-RI) under the direction of James Rooks, The formation of a successor golf league has continued the tradition of tournament golf for golfer's of all abilities. The Amateur Golf Tour of New England has commenced for the 2019 season, and will encompass the existing B.A.G.S. - RI Division, while expanding its reach to appeal to many of our golfing friends in Massachusetts. I, Paul Dumont have the honor of serving AGTNE starting in the golf season of 2021.

 

Highlights of AGTNE are: 

Choose from about 80 events (3 per week) from early April to late October.  Members may participate in just those events that suit their schedule. Host courses will include public and private courses located in Rhode Island, eastern and central Massachusetts, southern New Hampshire, and eastern Connecticut.  We will seek out those courses that provide an optimum combination of both quality and value.

 

Golf Genius: 

We are taking full advantage of the recent USGA partnership with the Golf Genius software. USGA Tournament Management Club Premium (TM Club Premium) delivers all the benefits of TM Club plus mobile app and live scoring, online event registration and payments, customizable websites (for each event, unlimited sponsor content (delivered via the mobile app, event website, printed materials, and TV leaderboards), trip management, text messaging.

 

Handicaps: 

Amateur Golf Tour of New England is a USGA member club with state affiliations with the Rhode Island Golf Association and Mass Golf association. GHIN handicaps may be established and maintained through either state association, or at another club. Scores from AGTNE rounds will be posted to the member's GHIN record after each event. Members may choose to carry their GHIN handicap affiliated with RIGA and/or Mass Golf. AGTNE members will have the ability to join the RIGA and/or Mass Golf and be eligible to participate in RIGA and/or Mass Golf events.

 

Prize Fund:

Tournament prize funds are paid out in the form of NEAT credits - which may be used for any future event. The tournament prize fund is divided up among the top finishers in the gross and net divisions based on the number or participants. Optional side games (gross, net, gross & net skins, zero's pool) are available at each event.

Season long Competitions- Player(s) of the year - gross and net, and a closest-to-pin / Hole-in-One pool will run for the entire local season.
